At PriMove, Ajeet Oak holds a leadership role in the technical services division, where he leads technical teams in design and project management of a number of large and small water and wastewater treatment projects.. Additionally, he also serves as a technical advisor and consultant to international NGOs and UNICEF, showcasing his expertise and contributions to the water sector.
Ajeet Oak has an educational background in Civil Engineering, having completed his bachelor’s degree in Pune, India in 1990. Throughout his career, he has focused on finding appropriate solutions to the challenges faced in the water and sanitation sector. His efforts have resulted in three patents and four publications, highlighting his commitment to innovation and knowledge sharing in the field.
For several years, Ajeet Oak has been at the forefront of the development and commercialization of the Tiger Toilet, Tiger Biofilter Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), and Fecal Sludge Treatment Plants (FSTP). These technologies offer low-cost and low-energy-intensive solutions for water and waste treatment. They are based on Vermi-filtration, which harnesses the capabilities of earthworms and bacteria to rapidly digest and neutralize waste matter.
The innovative nature and effectiveness of these technologies have garnered recognition and accolades. The Tiger Toilet and Tiger Biofilter STP won the prestigious Sarphati Sanitation Award at Amsterdam Water Week in 2019. Additionally, the FICCI water award for Urban wastewater treatment was conferred upon these technologies in 2021.
Through successful installations and proven results in the field, the Tiger Toilet, Tiger Biofilter STP, and FSTP technologies have gained credibility and are now poised for scaling up across the country, indicating their potential to address water and sanitation challenges on a larger scale.
